The Pre-trip Meeting of TEMC & BHGF the Third Session of Medical Specialists for Training Programme around Manchester Areas of UK Successfully Completed

On the afternoon of 21st May 2017, under the support of The International Emergency Management Society Emergency Medical Committee (TEMC), The Pre-trip Meeting of the Third Session of Medical Specialists for Training Programme around Manchester of UK organized by Beijing Huatong Guokang Foundation (BHGF), was held successfully in Beijing. Thirty-two excellent physicians, coming from 13 provinces in China respectively, are scheduled to fulfill the three-month training task in five hospitals around Manchester areas. The five British host hospitals all belong to the National Health Service (NHS) of United Kingdom.

At the meeting, Ms. Yin Xiumei, Director Assistant of TEMC and Council Member of BHGF expressed her sincere welcome to the doctors, and stressed on the specific regulations and precautions of this training, expecting the trainees cherish the hard-won opportunity, learn how to communicate with foreign counterparts; set clear learning goals and objectives, in the process of study they can learn from each other, pioneering ideas, to maximize improve their learning ability. Through the training, every trainee can make contribution to the hospital discipline construction and the team development in the future. During the period of studying abroad, helping each other, unity, love, abide by local laws and regulations, pay attention to safety, complete the learning task successfully. After the trainees come back to China, they shall submit a high quality learning report, and spread the ideas and love of Foundation, encourage more medical staff to grow up for the health of the people.

Mr. Sun Wuzhuang, Chief Physician, coming from The First Hospital of Hebei Medical University, serves as the leader of this delegation; Ms. Yang Minjie, doctor from Huashan Hospital Fudan University, is the vice leader of the team. The two team leaders expressed that this training is a golden opportunity, they shall lead the group members to cherish the learning opportunities of clinical observation, carry out academic exchanges with foreign counterparts actively, and work jointly to set a good example in organization, coordination and supervision of management to ensure the successful completion of this training. Other group leaders made speeches respectively and expressed that they would learn hard, consciously abide by the regulations, take care of each other, try their best to fulfill the training task in UK, and submit a high quality report after returning home in the end.

The Third Session of Medical Specialists for Training Programme around Manchester of UK is also the twenty-eighth Chinese medical specialists training programme in UK organized by TEMC and BHGF in general. TEMC and BHGF have already established cooperation with many prestigious British medical institutes such as the hospitals belonging to NHS foundation trust around Manchester areas, the affiliated hospital of Imperial College London, affiliated hospital of Brighton and Sussex Universities, St. George’s University of London hospital, etc. For the Chinese medical specialists training programme in UK, TEMC and BHGF strive to source out those who have fine English foundation and high professional medical level, and send them to take the training in UK. In training, the doctors’ fine performance has won high appreciation from the British medical institutes; after their back to China, the learning effect also has received recognition by the doctors’ working hospitals in China.

Experts of language and medical science are invited in this project to provide a two-week centralized training for members, in which English courses and brief introduction of England medical system are included. After that, every doctor will be assigned into corresponding department to do clinical observation in accordance with their majors, and study foreign advanced health care service system, clinical medical diagnosis technology and management specification. To ensure the quality of studying abroad, BHGF will constantly build a communication platform for the trainees, foreign instructors and medical institutions and invite foreign experts to academic salons for friendly exchange activities. Meanwhile, in order to make the trainees better focus on study, one colleague is specifically assigned in England to manage their study abroad and provide “security blanket” for the trainees’ daily life and accommodation.
